I stopped by the Career 100 podcast recently for an interview and a chat with host Felicia Gopaul. She was quite interested to know the finer details of my work, which I was happy to oblige her with!
But, like most stories we started at the beginning with some of my very early business experiences that set the scene for my future companies.
We also discussed how the entrepreneurial mindset is perfectly suited for web-consulting work, which was the driving reason behind me ultimately founding my web consulting business.
Felicia’s specific online business profile provided a perfect opportunity for me to discuss the different ‘problems’ one might have when attempting to drive traffic and leads to a website. If you listen in, you’ll find out which takes longer to generate, traffic or leads and some solutions to get you started.
A bit of a tease, I know!
There were a few other interesting subjects that came up, including the myths and misconceptions that surround web developing as a profession, and of course, the ever-present need to maintain discipline.
If you are involved in web consulting or web design in any capacity, you know what I mean when I say you have to constantly keep abreast of changes in the industry, have your finger on the pulse, and always be developing new skill sets.
It’s just the nature of the beast.
She asked me a cool question regarding the kind of advice I would give to my younger self. Without hesitation, I know what I would say to that ambitious young chica. Any guesses?
There is some really great information in this interview, and we get into the nitty-gritty of nurturing campaigns, content upgrades and opt-in email courses.
Not sure what those are? Click play and find out!
Last but not least…my favourite….I got to speak on the perks of the web-consulting lifestyle and why it is such a popular career choice these days.
